Dog Training for the Family Dog

Family Dog Training Class

Family Dog is a continuation of the Beginning Manners program.  The focus of the Family Dog program is on increasing reliability, furthering the human-canine bond, and on improving self control, and frustration tolerance.

If you did not complete a Beginning Manners Class or private lessons with me, you will need to have your dog evaluated and you will need to take a private session prior to the first class date.

The format for Family Dog is non-traditional. There is a membership fee (good for one year from the date you join) and a fee for each session you attend.

There are eight lessons.  Each week’s lesson is self-contained.  That means that things like vacations or conflicts with schedule won't matter because each session is self-contained so you don't have to do them in order. You'll find a complete agenda of the lessons in the Family Dog Training Guidelines

You and your dog may start in any week and attend as often as you like for one year, paying only for the lessons you attend. You may renew the annual membership as often as you like.

I also offer my Family Dog students a single, in-home private session to address issues that may not be covered in our classes.  There is additional information in the Family Dog Training Guidelines.

To complete the Family Dog level and move to the Club Canine level you and your dog must be able to demonstrate the following skills:
